Experience Røst, a wild place on the outer edges of Lofoten. As you cross Vestfjorden to our magical flat island on the ferry from Bodø, you encounter the primitive force of the locals.
Arriving by plane from Bodø or Svolvær gives you a bird’s eye view of the hundreds of islands, islets and skerries that make up our special archipelago.
Unlike the rest of Lofoten, the highest point of the island is Røstlandet which features panoramic views of the midnight sun and the Northern Lights. There are no trees casting shadows or mountains blocking out the sunlight. You'll encounter a modern, friendly fishing community.
Experience the abundant winter fishing where there are about 300 boats and 1000-1,500 fishermen during the winter season. With the wind and the sea spray cleansing your face, it will feel like the world's most natural spa. After going round the island, you will find one of the many bars or restaurants where you can sit quietly enjoying the local specialities. Afterwards you can sleep off your food at any number of places that take guests. Experience Lundefestival (The Puffin Festival) in June, Querinidagene (a music festival) in August and In the Name of Cod in March. You really have to come and see.
